The Interfaith Peace Treaty is being circulated among responsible leaders, intellectuals, thinkers and believers within all of the following spiritual and intellectual communities for signature:
Buddhism, Taoism, Confucian, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, Druidry, Wicca, New Age, African Traditional Religions, American Indian Native Traditions, Shamanism, Humanism, Freemasonry, Jainism, Unitarianism, Universalism, Bahaism, Shintoism, Sikhism, Rastafarianism, Paganism, Asatru, New Religious Movements, Platonism, Kantianism, Pythagoreanism, Philosophy, Theosophy, Anthroposophy, Gnosticism, Rosicrucianism, Sufism, Shiism, Sunnism, Quakers, Yezidis, Spiritualists, Aristotelianism, process philosophy, etc. and all the other 168 faiths and religious and philosophical traditions itemised in the Periodic Table of the World’s Religious and Philosophical Traditions.
Our intention is that the Interfaith Peace Treaty can make a significant contribution towards ending, solving and easing the ongoing conflicts and wars going on in numerous parts of the world, by enabling the spiritual leaders of the warring factions to declare their intention to sublimate their conflicts into higher educational studies, research, and academic debate, as well as to submit their rival truth claims to the court of international intellectual opinion, rather than to battlefields littered with corpses and the wounded victims of violence (including the innumerable invisible victims of world poverty, rape, trauma, mental illness, homelessness, starvation, disease, refugees etc which are caused by wars). We also intend that the resources gained to the world community by ending our ancient feuds and religious rivalries, can be diverted towards needed support for those in poverty, and those needing homes and shelters, education and jobs. We are calling on the world’s spiritual leaders and visionaries to sign this document as a sign that we are wishing collectively, as humanity, to move from an era of competing truth claims, to an era of shared truth realisations and actions, to move from an era based on hate and lies, to an era based on love and truth.
To affix your signature to the Interfaith Peace treaty please send you name and a covering note, with a description of any faith community or intellectual tradition you belong to or official titles you hold, to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are in touch with any spiritual elders, interfaith leaders, philosophers, living saints and sages, academics, scientists and intellectuals of any variety, please draw them to the attention of this Interfaith Peace Treaty and request them to sign as well. We hope in due course to organise a major Interfaith Peace Treaty Signing Ceremony in Jerusalem, and one each of the 5 continents, once we have reached a critical mass of signatures.
